May 18, 2012 · 1987 - 1996 F150 & Larger F-Series Trucks - 1989 F150 speedometer not working - recently got this truck and already done a ton of work to it (new leafs, shackles, shocks, shock mounts, brake lines, brake rebuild, wheel cylinders, other stuff) well the speedo, odometer, temp guage, and oil pressure guage all dont work.... speedometer not working. Just got back from the garage. Code 42 is cleared and I have my speedometer working once again. The problem is within the SH. I'm not sure if it's the harness or the main unit itself. The Acumen is still installed on the bike and I don't think I would need to re-program it.
